Lynda Nashed Zeman for Thurston County Assessor
Appraising property, valuing people.
Lynda Nashed Zeman is running for Thurston County Assessor because she believes government should be clear, fair, and accessible. With a strong blend of public service, professional training, and real-world business experience, she brings the expertise needed to lead an office that impacts every household in Thurston County.
Lynda previously served as an appointed City Councilmember for the City of Lacey, working directly with residents, businesses, and regional partners on issues ranging from public services to community investment. This experience deepened her understanding of how local government decisions affect people’s daily lives and underscored the importance of accountable, experienced leadership.
For three years, Lynda provided executive administration services in the Thurston County Assessor’s Office, supporting core operations including human resources, strategic budgeting, financial oversight, public communication, and modernization of internal processes. She currently serves in an executive administration role with the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners, giving her a broad and in-depth perspective on county operations and taxpayer priorities. These combined experiences uniquely prepare her to manage the Assessor’s Office with professionalism, transparency, and fiscal responsibility.
Lynda is committed to excellence in the assessment field. She has served for two years on the Board of the West Puget Sound Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and was recently elected Vice President. She is also completing training through the IAAO’s Assessment Administration Specialist program, which represents the highest national standards for accuracy, equity, and fairness.
Before entering public service, Lynda co-owned and operated Window Genie of Olympia, gaining firsthand experience with small-business budgeting, customer service, and community accountability. She is also a long-time volunteer and community advocate, holding leadership roles with the Zonta Club of Olympia and serving as a long-time member of Hawks Prairie Rotary.
Lynda is running for Assessor to bring transparency, fairness, and people-centered leadership to an office that affects everyone in Thurston County.
